What to Do Today When Unmotivated
Motivation comes and goes—it's not a character flaw. On days when you have none, these ideas meet you where
you are without demanding what you don't have.
- Start with something ridiculously small — Put on socks. Brush your teeth. Walk to
another room. Micro-actions build momentum.
- Set a 10-minute timer — Tell yourself you only have to try for 10 minutes. Often,
starting is the hardest part.
- Do something that feels good — Not productive—just enjoyable. Watch your favorite show,
listen to music, sit in the sun.
- Change your environment — Work from a different room, sit outside, rearrange your desk.
New setting = new energy.
- Give yourself full permission to rest — Sometimes the most productive thing is
acknowledging you need a break. Rest without guilt.
